HRP Lay Drug Charges After Traffic Stop, Hotel Search

Police lay drug charges after traffic stop and search of hotel room
 
On January 30 at 3 p.m., members of the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Gottingen Street and Rainnie Drive in Halifax. A quantity of marihuana and a sum of Canadian currency was located inside the vehicle, and the driver and both passengers, all men, were taken into custody.
 
As a result of the traffic stop, investigators executed a search warrant at a room in a hotel located in the 100 block of Wyse Road in Dartmouth. Located inside the hotel room was a quantity of marihuana.
 
A 47-year-old man from Edmonton, Alberta, a 42-year-old man of no fixed address and a 26-year-old man also from Edmonton, Alberta all face trafficking in cannabis charges and will appear in court at a later date.
