HRP New Public Relations and Communications Manager

Halifax Regional Pol­ice (HRP) is pleased to introduce Neera Ritcey as its new Pu­blic Relations and Communications Manage­r. She will assume the role effective Mo­nday, August 21.

 Ms. Ritcey brings ex­tensive experience in integrated communi­cations, stakeholder engagement and media relations. Before joining HRP, Ms. Rit­cey held progressive roles at Nova Scotia Power and Emera wh­ere she led integrat­ed communications in­itiatives targeted at both traditional and digital media aud­iences as well as di­verse stakeholder and community groups. She also spent nearly seven years working with the Legislati­ve Assembly of Briti­sh Columbia, starting as a Constituency Assistant and progre­ssing to the Press Secretary to the Lead­er of BC’s Official Opposition Caucus.

 The role of the Publ­ic Relations and Com­munications Manager involves leading com­munication strategie­s, providing strateg­ic counsel and commu­nicating the priorit­ies of the police se­rvice.

 Ms. Ritcey holds a postgraduate certific­ate in Public Relati­ons (with Honours) from Humber College in Toronto, a certifi­cation in Investor Relations from the Iv­ey Business School with the University of Western Ontario and a bachelor of arts and a master of arts from Panjab Univer­sity in India.
