HRP Officer Unintentionally Discharges Firearm

Halifax Regional Police is conducting an internal review into an unintentional discharge of an officer’s firearm that occurred this morning just outside of the HRP West Divisional Office located on Convoy Run in Bedford. 

At 7:20 a.m., a member was performing a routine function check just outside the building. The officer had the firearm pointed in a safe direction when one round was accidentally discharged. The officer immediately contacted their supervisor. No one was harmed as a result of the discharge.

The internal review surrounding the circumstances of this incident is underway.
