HRP respond to two calls of interest overnight: Injured man results in search and rescue / Man arrested attempting to break into apartments

At 2:11am a 911 call was received of an injured man that was lost in the woods in the area of York Redoubt.

K-9 was able to conduct a track and locate two men after a short search.

The men had gone fishing in the area and one became injured. Additional calls could not be made after the initial call as the injured man’s cell phone battery had died.

The injured man was taken to hospital for non life threatening injuries.

At 12:42am Halifax Regional Police responded to the area the 1200 block of Church St in Halifax for a report of a man trying to break into numerous apartments.

Upon arrival on scene officers became involved in a foot pursuit with the suspect.

The suspect was arrested after a short distance.

Entry was not gained to any apartment and a 24 year old man will be attended Halifax Provincial Court today to face two property damage charges.
