The 14th annual CopShop, hosted by Halifax Shopping Centre and Halifax Regional Police , took place today, (December 12) in an all smiles mall raid.
60 HRP officers and staff became personal shoppers to 52 local children as they set out for a special shopping spree.
Each child received a $200 gift card donated by Halifax Shopping Centre, a stocking filled with goodies and a new winter coat from Sport Chek.
Halifax Shopping Centre also gave each shopping duo a $10 gift card to help pay it forward. This means that the CopShop participant used the card to purchase a gift for a child the same age, which the mall will donate to the Salvation Army Toy Drive.
Each paired duo took to the task at hand with big smiles and energy, creating a special holiday memory for all involved.
