Finally some rain… then another fine stretch. We deserve it!

After the first 10 days in May, hardly any precipitation had been reported.  Typically, 100mm is normal for the month.

As a system passes along the St.

Lawrence Valley, rain showers are developing tonight.  On Tuesday, periods of rain can be expected in all three provinces that will persist in the form of a few showers in most areas overnight. Northern New Brunswick, closest to the low, will likely receive totals of over 25mm of rain.  Elsewhere, between 10 and 15mm will be typical.

On Wednesday a cold front with a band of showers will slide southward across the Maritimes.  In Northern New Brunswick, some wet flurries are likely as the wind shifts to a chilly northerly flow.

Following the passage of the cold front, skies will clear.  It appears likely that fine weather will then continue into the long weekend, with temperatures getting up to near or slightly above normal (15-20C).

Enjoy!
