Human remains found in river: RCMP investigating

RCMP release:

Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating after human remains were located in the Lahave River.

On August 22, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of possible human remains in the Lahave River, Pleasantville. Upon attendance, the body of a 50-year-old woman was located. Nova Scotia RCMP is working with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service to determine circumstances that led to her death. At this time, criminality is not believed to be a factor.

The investigation is in the early stages and no additional information will be released at this time.
