Hundreds of pre-lit Christmas Trees recalled due to fire hazard

Via Health Canada:

A safety recall has been issued for the Home Decorators Collection 7.5 ft. Grand Duchess Balsam Fir LED Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Tree, sold exclusively in Canada. The product, identified by model number 23LE61001 and article number 1001803629, features 5000 colour changing lights. This recall is due to a risk of burn or fire hazard, as the tree’s control panel or electrical cord plug may overheat.

As of November 21, 2023, there have been no reported incidents or injuries in Canada. Consumers in possession of this specific model are advised to immediately stop using the tree. The tree should be unplugged and returned to any The Home Depot Canada store for a full refund. For additional information or assistance, customers can contact Home Depot Canada by phone.
