Kids in Bedford were very disappointed when Dairy Queen shut its doors in April.

But as of last week, Bedfordites welcomed with open arms the new Cold Stone Creamery, located inside the Tim Hortons in the Village Centre plaza.

Located at 930 Bedford Highway, the Creamery offers different flavours of ice cream, as well as “blizzard-like” creations.

Not only is Tim Hortons a popular hang-out spot with adults; it has now opened its doors to everyone, big and small.

Tim Hortons Inc. and Kahala Corp, the parent company of Cold Stone Creamery, have combined these two brands.

“The combination of these two strong complementary brands has created a positive consumer response in U.S. test locations,” said Dan Beem, president, Cold Stone Creamery. “We look forward to introducing our premium ice cream indulgences to the Canadian market and leveraging Tim Hortons’ tremendous market share and reputation for quality and freshness.”

Cold Stone Creamery will hold its grand opening event on Thursday, August 6, 5-9pm.
