Illegal ‘passengers’ result in charges, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S.

Tantallon RCMP stopped a suspicious car driving on Prospect Road with no lights and discovered a car full of marihuana plants.

Last evening at approximately 10:05 p.m., Tantallon RCMP stopped a suspicious car driving on Prospect Road with no headlights.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla was overcrowded by 20 marihuana plants which were loaded into the front and rear seats of his vehicle. A passenger was located in the trunk of the car seemingly to make room for the marihuana in the front seat area.

A 23-year-old male from Brookside and a 24-year-old male from Hatchet Lake are each facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Cultivation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. They will appear in Halifax Provincial court on October 30th, 2013 for plea.
