Images of man involved in an armed robbery at Esso station released

Colchester County District RCMP is releasing images of man involved in an armed robbery on Robie St. in Lower Truro.

On Sunday February 20, at approximately 6:55 p.m., a man entered the Esso gas station on Robie St. in Lower Truro, where he threatened staff with a weapon while demanding that they open the safe. The man was given cash and cigarettes and then fled the scene.

Continued investigation has determined that the man tried to escape the area in a vehicle that was already occupied by other people, near the drive thru at the McDonald’s on Robie St. The man was unsuccessful and fled the area on foot. No one was injured during either incident.

The man is described as white, was wearing a black jacket or hoodie, blue jeans, black sneakers, a black baseball hat and a pair of sunglasses. Police are releasing images of the man that were captured on video surveillance in the hopes that a member of the public may be able to assist with identifying the man.
