Impaired driver found stopped in middle of road in Bedford faces charges

HRP release:

On October 3 at approximately 7:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver. It was noted that the vehicle had stopped in the centre of the road in the 900 block of Starboard Drive in Bedford. Upon arrival, officers observed a man in the driver’s seat who appeared to be asleep.

When officers woke the man, he showed signs of impairment and was arrested.

During the investigation, officers located and seized a quantity of money and a quantity of drugs.

A 26-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Operation of a conveyance while impaired to any degree by alcohol or drugs
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Resist arrest
