Important details about tomorrow’s contest

The following contest details are from SANS Co-Presidents and Contest Directors Justin Huston and Graham Bondt:

VENUE CHANGE: We’re shifting the contest to the Moose in Cow Bay, which will work with the forecasted swell and wind direction. If we’re lucky we’ll have some solid surf tomorrow morning and good winds.

COMPETITORS: Sign-in starts at 8am. You must sign in. We’ll be finalizing the heat schedule tomorrow morning. Women’s and Men’s divisions will be running first, with the first heats starting at 9am. You miss your heat, and you’re done. No exceptions. The original draft heat schedule is posted below, but this will change. Make sure you are at the Moose to sign-in in the morning. (Note to South Shore surfers: we’re placing you in the later heats to allow you some time to make the two-hour drive north. But please get up here as early as you can.)

RESPECT: All competitors, spectators, and volunteers need to remember that the Moose is a community space that needs to be respected. This means, no irresponsible behavior, bad parking, littering etc. This is very, very important, and I hope everyone will make this a priority.

PARKING: There is not a lot of space for parking, and many cars may need to park along Cow Bay Road. If possible, please car pool. If you park along the road, please pull off on the shoulder as much as possible.

AFTER PARTY: Following the contest, there will be an after-party, just down the road at “Barnfest II” in Cow Bay to announce the winners and get down!

See you Saturday morning!
