Summary of Police actions reported on April 26th, 2010. From HRPD:
Indecent Act
At 10:05 am members responded to an business located in the 5100 block of Duke Street in Halifax for a report of an indecent act. Upon arrival officers learned a male was in the washroom area on the second floor and had lowered his pants to his ankles and exposed himself to a female. Officers checked the building and located the male on the third floor where he was arrested without incident. The thirty four year old Halifax resident male was charged with Indecent Act and was taken to court.
Weapons and Drugs
At 1:30pm Community Officers conducted a traffic stop on Stoneybrook Court in Halifax. One male in the vehicle was arrested for outstanding criminal charges, and as a result officers observed shotgun shells. Patrol officers arrived to assist and officers observed another occupant in the vehicle attempt to hide a firearm. The occupants as well as the vehicle were searched and members recovered a sawed off shotgun, a quantity of marihuana, cash and scales.
1 Adult male, 2 adult females and one Young offender male are all facing weapons charges as well as drug charges. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Robbery Charges Laid
One woman faces charges after a robbery last month in Halifax.
On March 30 at approximately 9:50 a.m., a 55-year-old woman was walking in the area of Brunswick and Uniacke Streets when she was approached by two women. One of the women asked for cigarettes and money and when the victim refused, the suspect threatened her. As a result of the investigation a woman was arrested on April 21 without incident.
A 27-year-old East Preston woman is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on May 27 to face charges of robbery and breach of probation.
Arrest Made in Hit and Run
Halifax Regional Police has arrested a man in connection with a hit and run which took place on April 10 in Dartmouth.
The investigation indicates that a Toyota Corolla and a Chevrolet Silverado collided head on just after 2 a.m. near the intersection of Braemar Drive and Braeside Court. The driver of the Silverado who fled the scene turned himself into police this morning.
A 36-year-old Dartmouth man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court in June to face three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and one count of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
