Infant airlifted to hospital after car-pedestrian accident

Yarmouth Town RCMP is investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Herrington Ave. in Yarmouth.

At approximately 8:05 a.m. yesterday, police were notified of a motor vehicle collision on Herrington Ave. in Yarmouth. Police, fire and EHS attended the scene where it was determined that a white SUV had been travelling on Herrington Ave. when the vehicle collided with two pedestrians.

The driver of the SUV, a 33-year-old woman from Yarmouth, was uninjured. The pedestrians, a 35-year-old woman and a 1-year-old infant, both from Yarmouth, suffered injuries and were taken to local hospital by ambulance. The infant was later airlifted to a hospital in Halifax by LifeFlight as a precautionary measure.

The investigation has determined environmental factors were the cause of the collision and no charges will be laid. The investigation has been concluded.
