Information session on science career counselling for women

If you're a woman who doesn't particularly like her job, you might want to check out the Woman Unlimited program. They've shared the information below.   —-- There will be an information session on Friday, February 24th at 2pm, at Metroworks Employment Services.   349 Herring Cove Road, Unit 105 Call 477-1646   At the session you can ask questions about the Women Unlimited program. Applications will also be available that day. Metroworks Case Managers will also be available to arrange appointments with current clients or new ones, to discuss the referral process for Women Unlimited.    If you are a woman and you meet the following criteria: -Living in HRM -Interested in exploring a new career in trades or technology -Unemployed or underemployed -Not in school This may be the program for you!   This 14-week program (30-hours per week) provides participants with an opportunity to explore careersin science, trades and technology and to take part in career decision-making activities.   Topics and activities covered in this 14-week program include:   -career decision-making-exploring programs and career opportunities in the science, trades and technology fields-gender and diversity in the workplace workshops-Portfolio Development and Computer Skill enhancement-self-employment in science, trades and technology-Certification in WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, First Aid & CPR-job search skills, including resume writing and interview skills-field trips, job shadowing with local employers, and much more!   Call 477-1646 to register. ...
