Ingonish Beach RCMP arrested a 26-year-old man from Sydney for drug trafficking.

On February 1st, 2015, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Ingonish Beach RCMP were conducting a checkpoint for impaired drivers on the Cabot Trail.

During the checkpoint, the driver of a pick-up truck was checked and a drug investigation commenced. As a result, the driver was arrested after approximately half a kilogram of marijuana was seized.

The man, who is facing a charge of Drug Trafficking, was released from custody and will appear in Ingonish Beach on March 26th, 2015. The investigation is continuing.
