Ingonish man charged with proceeds of crime, Ingonish, N.S.

The RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit have charged an Ingonish man with Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Money Laundering in relation to a 2013 drug investigation.

The RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit have charged an Ingonish man with Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Money Laundering in relation to a 2013 drug investigation.

In March 2014, 55-year-old Wayne Francis Hawley was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking following a drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of marijuana and over $35,000 in cash.

Following the seizure of cash, a proceeds of crime investigation was launched into the financial activities of Hawley that resulted in charges of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000 and Money Laundering. Hawley is scheduled to appear in Ingonish Provincial Court on March 26th, 2015. Then investigation is continuing.
