Ingonish RCMP investigate assaults with weapon, Bay St. Lawrence, N.S.

Ingonish RCMP have arrested two people in relation to an altercation that occurred between several men at the Bay St. Lawrence wharf yesterday. At approximately 1:15 p.m., Ingonish RCMP responded to a report of a group of males fighting with weapons.

Ingonish RCMP have arrested two people in relation to an altercation that occurred between several men at the Bay St. Lawrence wharf yesterday.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., Ingonish RCMP responded to a report of a group of males fighting with weapons.

The caller also stated that a male had been run over by a truck. Preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place between two men and that it escalated to five men becoming involved. At one point during the altercation, one of the men jumped into a vehicle and tried to run another man over. A 22-year-old man from St. Margaret’s Village was arrested at his residence and a 23-year-old man from Bay St Lawrence was arrested in Bay St Lawrence, both without incident.

The RCMP is currently looking for three men from the area and it should be noted that these men are known to one another and the assaults were not random acts. The investigation is continuing.
