It’s Like Driving a Bike

I have a secret… I’ve turned over a new leaf. No, really… I have! Two weeks ago I started a Beachbody Challenge. I’m doing the TurboFire workout and guess what? I didn’t die yet.

Isn’t that cool? After two weeks, I’ve lost 5 pounds and five inches and I’m feeling pretty great. Well, except for the four days when I couldn’t cough because my poor abdominal muscles were screaming in protest.

Part of my reasoning for starting this program is, of course, to lose weight but I also want to be in better shape. I used to bike up to 20 kms a day and now I’m not sure if I can bike for 20 mins a day. But I’m getting better. We all need to have goals!

Speaking of goals and biking, can you imagine biking 6,000 kms across Canada in less than 3 months? Well, Angella Goran is doing just that! She is making the 6,000km trek across Canada to raise awareness for the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s (CWF) wildlife conservation initiatives. She started her journey on August 14 in Victoria, BC, and will wrap it up on October 30 in Halifax, NS. She will be stopping at local schools, camps and communities along the way sharing CWF’s message and encouraging Canadians to enjoy the outdoors, connect with nature and lead an active and healthy lifestyle. So if Angella can bike 6,000 kms across Canada then I can for sure complete my workout for the day. And pretty soon I hope to be back up to my 20km a day bike ride. Now if only my bike had a basket for my wine…
