The Relay For Life is a cause close to my heart.
Relay is an inspirational 12-hour overnight fundraiser that gets community members together to help make cancer history. The event celebrates cancer survivors, remembers loved ones lost to cancer, and fight backs in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease.
Last year was the first time I participated; after watching several people in my life suffer through the awful disease that is cancer I felt that I needed to do something to help fight back. What an incredible and emotional experience. With the help of my hubby and a few great friends we were able to raise over $2,000.00 for this wonderful event.
Last night I officially signed up as part of Hubby’s work team – “Scotiabank – Banking For A Cure.” Rumor has it that the bank will match whatever we raise too. How awesome is that?!! Tash and hopefully Jaime and Holly will also be joining us.
My goal this year is to raise $2,500.00. The bulk of that is already met from an auction that I held last summer. In fact, if I could raise $500 over the next 8 weeks I would surpass my goal!
So, here’s my question for YOU. Would you buy raffle e-tickets as part of an online fundraiser to support my Relay For Life campaign? And, if so, what are some items that would make for a good raffle? I had a few ideas but would love your feedback!
