Jansober Update

Today is Jansboer 12^th and I guess it’s time for an update.  I’m 12 days without a drop of alcohol and I’m feeling great (I swear I’m not an alcoholic!).  It’s been a tough go because I’ve been to a few events in the past two weeks where there was free wine and I LOVE red wine but I’ve been strong and I’m glad I haven’t caved!

I’ll be honest, if I hadn’t started Jansober and started blogging and tweeting about it, I know for a fact that I would have caved and had some wine because there wouldn’t have been anything to hold me accountable.

As I write this post I remember a post I wrote almost a year ago about setting goals for yourself and why you should tell everyone and anyone who will listen to you about those goals.  This is a perfect example of that!

After 12 days I haven’t noticed any weight loss on the scale but I’m FINALLY starting to feel better about myself.  All of the food and booze from the past four months finally caught up to me (in the form of 12 lbs) and I wasn’t feeling great about how I was looking or feeling.  With Jansober I’m eating well again and hitting the gym and playing volleyball and hockey.  That paired up with not being hungover on the weekend means I’ve been productive and I have a feeling next week I’ll notice some movement on the scale or at least in my waistline.
