At last I’ve seen Bill Travis’ flamenco side and it is mighty. Bill and Joey perform as Jlamenco Duro Y Oscuro, doing very traditional, but original flamenco works.
Amidst the spirits of the dead, they entertained us at their CD release.
The red walls and black stage curtains of the Company House were the perfect backdrop for the show as you can see in Karla’s picture.
Bill was totally in character and full of passion. Having only seen him perform his folks songs before, this was great fun.
The only flamenco CD I have in my collection is one by Paco De Lucia, so I hardly feel qualified to comment on the genre, but I will say I thoroughly enjoyed the show, and I’m glad I went out…thanks guys!
