I may or may not be lounging outside on the deck soaking in the rays as I type this post up….I’m loving every moment of this hot weather! But it’s definitely that time of year when us mamas have to make sure our cupboards and diaper bags are stocked with sunscreen otherwise days spent at the park and in the backyard can turn bad in a hurry. Little sunburned shoulders are not fun!

This past week I’ve been applying it to my little guys on the important parts: cheeks, nose, forehead, ears, back of their necks, chests and shoulders. Once they get browned up (which takes no time at all – they’re already somewhat tanned from 3 days outside in hot weather!) then I back off the sunscreen and rely more on hats, tees, the shady areas of our deck and generally keep them out of the scorching sun between 12-2 (nap time & quiet time).

We’re just finishing using up the last of our sunscreen from the previous year before we purchase more (be sure to check those expiration dates) so the timing of the EWG sunscreen guide being released today is perfect!
