Kayaker safely located, Oxford, N.S.

A kayaker has been found safe and sound after spending an evening in the woods. At approximately 7:45 p.m. last evening, Cumberland County RCMP responded to a call of an over due kayaker in the Oxford Junction area.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. last evening, Cumberland County RCMP responded to a call of an over due kayaker in the Oxford Junction area.

Springhill and Pugwash Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) were activated.

At approximately 6:45 a.m., members of the GSAR located the 58-year-old Cumberland County man in the woods near Tillit Brook. He was not injured and reported that he had ran out of daylight.

The RCMP would like to thank the members of the GSAR Teams who gave their time to bring this search to a successful conclusion.
