Having a baby usually means going a bit overboard with the home safety devices…it must be deeply ingrained is us once we have children because it never seems to go away. At least it hasn’t for us yet! I was so pleased when I heard how ridiculously loud our detection devices were the first time they went off by accident thanks to little fingers playing with the alarm pad. Why can you never find a broom to turn them off or remember the alarm code when you need it the most???
Universal Security Instruments (USI), has recently launched a new smoke/fire alarm and carbon monoxide/natural gas alarm, which feature the most compact and effective detection to date. The new IoPhic smoke and fire alarm is designed to keep families as safe as possible with the most time-efficient detection available that can actually distinguish between a real fire and smoke from cooking! And the carbon monoxide/natural gas alarm is compact (smallest option on the market) and has one sensor to detect both carbon monoxide and natural gas. These products are available at Canadian Tire in-store and online and batteries are included. They also come with an impressive 10 year warranty. We’re installing our new Smoke & Fire alarms ($35.99) and Carbon Monoxide/Natural Gas alarm ($39.99) this weekend since we realized we don’t have them in all the sleeping areas. You can never be too safe!
With daylight saving time coming to an end it’s the perfect opportunity to give your home a quick once over. Check all your alarms, replace the batteries, clean out the furnace and dryer filters and change your passwords!
