Kelly Regan: notice of upcoming meetings

January 7, 2012

Dear Friends:

I want to draw your attention to a couple of public meetings that you may be interested in attending this month.

First – the Halifax Regional School Board has been conducting a school boundary review of some of the areas in the CP Allen family of schools. HRSB will present its interim report to the community at a meeting on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Basinview Drive Community School, 273 Basinview Drive, Bedford.

Although school boundary reviews are conducted by local school boards and not the provincial government, I wanted to notify you of this important meeting because it has the potential to impact families from your neighbourhood.

For more information on the proposed changes (including a map), please check out www.hrsb.ns.ca.

Second – I will be hosting representatives from Credit Counselling Services of Atlantic Canada at a session on personal budgeting and finances – how to create a budget and stick to it. This session could be of use to young people who are heading off to post-secondary education or those who have made fiscal New Year’s resolutions. It will be held on Thursday, January 19th in the cafeteria at Charles P. Allen High School, 670 Rocky Lake Drive, Bedford. I hope to see you there!

If you have any concerns about these or any other issues, please do not hesitate to contact me at (902)407-3777 or kelly@kellyregan.ca.

Sincerely,

Kelly Regan MLA
Bedford-Birch Cove
