An independent human rights board of inquiry into Kevin Brooks v. Government of Nova Scotia, Department of Correctional Services, will begin Monday, May 30.
The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Halifax Harbourview, 101 Wyse Road, Dartmouth.
Mr. Brooks alleges that he was discriminated against on the basis of his race and/or colour while employed by Correctional Services. Correctional Services deny this allegation.
The board chair is E.A. Nelson Blackburn, who is independent of the commission, a party in the board of inquiry representing the public interest.
