Kings County RCMP on scene of fatal head-on collision, Arlington, N.S.

Kings County RCMP are currently at the scene of a head-on collision that closed highway 358 in Arlington/North Corner area.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and Canning Fire Department responded to a head-on collision between a pick-up truck and a sedan vehicle.

Preliminary investigation determined that the lone occupant of a pick-up truck was traveling northbound when his vehicle collided with the lone occupant of a southbound sedan. The driver of the sedan, a 25-year-old man from New Minas, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pick-up truck was assessed at the scene by EHS and released.

Highway 358 is closed in both directions and RCMP expect the highway to be closed for several hours while police continue their investigation. A collision reconstructionist has been called to assist with the investigation.
