Kings District RCMP is investigating after a fatal snowmobile collision earlier today.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., Kings District RCMP, Springfield-East Dalhousie Volunteer Fire Department, and EHS responded to a report of a snowmobile collision in the community of Armstrong Lake. A preliminary investigation has determined that a female snowmobile operator was on a groomed trail when her snowmobile crashed into a tree. A 29-year-old female from Halifax was pronounced deceased at the scene. A male passenger received minor injuries but declined EHS assistance.

Kings District RCMP would like to thank the Crossburn Snowmobile Club for their assistance in this matter.

The investigation is ongoing. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.
