On December 24, 2016, on Highway 101 in Auburn, Kings County, a member of Kings District RCMP initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was an off-duty member of the RCMP.
On January 4, 2017, Cpl. Scott MacMillan, who is a member of the RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit, was charged with Impaired Driving and Refusing a Breath Demand. He was released from custody on December 24 and is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on February 14, 2017.
Cpl. MacMillan is currently on administrative leave. An internal Code of Conduct investigation is underway in relation to Cpl. MacMillan’s conduct.
Cpl. MacMillan has 26 years of service and has been assigned to the RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit.
