Kings Road shut down as RCMP investigate fatal collision, Howie Center, N.S.

RCMP Cape Breton Traffic Services are currently at the scene of a fatal two-vehicle collision between an oil truck and a sedan. At approximately 1:40 p.m., RCMP, Howie Center Fire Department, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report of a serious collision between an oil truck and a Chevrolet Impala.

RCMP Cape Breton Traffic Services are currently at the scene of a fatal two-vehicle collision between an oil truck and a sedan.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., RCMP, Howie Center Fire Department, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report of a serious collision between an oil truck and a Chevrolet Impala.

Preliminary investigation determined that the oil truck was traveling east and the car was traveling west when the collision occurred. RCMP confirm that the lone male occupant of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene. The two occupants of the truck were not injured.

Traffic is being rerouted and RCMP expect Kings Road to be closed for at least one hour. RCMP are asking motorists to use alternate routes. No further details are available at this time and the investigation is continuing.
