Community Spirit Takes Flight…
What says spring better than flying your own kite.

No batteries or fossil fuels will be required when folks of all ages take kites to the skies of Halifax for an afternoon of good clean fun.

The Second Annual King’s View Academy Kite Festival is a multi-cultural, family-oriented event open to kite enthusiasts of all ages.

This event promises to be a wholesome, fun, and educational activity to fly a colorful display of kites over our community.

The day will begin with an a Kite Building Workshop at King’s View Academy at 10am designed for students from Grades 5 to 12, facilitated by experts from the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, where participants will learn to build and fly their own kites.

The workshop is open to the first 25 students who register by calling 429-5434. The event will be punctuated with kite flying and building contests, and local kite enthusiasts will be invited to assist with kite flying techniques for beginners.

King’s View Academy, located in the Maritime Conservatory Building on Chebucto Road, is a non-profit independent junior and senior high school, providing a safe and encouraging learning environment with a strong university preparatory program that includes the development of creative leadership skills, community-mindedness, and self-confidence.
