Labour Day – What’s open?

With the long holiday weekend upon us, here’s a look at what is open and closed. Some other businesses may be open that does not show up here. Always call ahead if you’re not sure.

Grocer and Food:

Superstore, Sobeys, Walmart, Pete’s and Costco locations are closed.  Gateway Meat Market is open.

Most restaurants and diners, coffee shops and cafes will be open as usual.

Beer and Wine:

NSLC stores will be closed on monday.

Garrison Brewing, Bishop’s Cellar, Propeller Brewery locations will be open.

Malls, Stores and Entertainment:

All major malls will be closed on Monday.  Some smaller shops may be open.  Call ahead.  Corner stores will generally be open regular hours.  Movie theaters are open regular hours.  Other entertainment, such as the indoor trampoline park, may vary.  Call ahead.

Banks and Government:

All banks are closed Monday.  Government services (with emergency services exempt) are closed Monday.  This includes libraries, post offices and garbage collection.

Transit bus and ferry:

Operating on holiday schedule.

Parking and Gas Stations:

Parking at meters is free Monday (exception of private lot meters). Gas stations will generally be open regular hours.

Other businesses may vary. Call ahead for hours.

Please have a safe Labour Day weekend.  Do not drive under the influence.  The police will be open 24/7.
