Police have charged two men in relation to a robbery that occurred in Halifax last week.
On August 25 at approximately 2:50 a.m. police received a report that a robbery had occurred at the Irving gas station located at 280 Lacewood Drive. A man entered the store, produced a knife and demanded money. He left the store with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle along with a second suspect.
Police located both men a short time later and they were arrested without incident.
Andrew Claude Campbell, 34, was charged with:
- Robbery
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Flight from police
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance
Christopher Douglas Picco, 29, was charged with:
- Robbery
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
- Resist arrest
- Breach of probation (x4)
Picco was also charged in relation to the following robberies:
- August 2: Circle K store, 173 Herring Cove Road:
- Robbery
- Breach of probation (x2)
- August 23: Needs store, 33 Herring Cove Road:
- Robbery
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
- Uttering threats
- Breach of probation (x2)
Both men appeared in Halifax Provincial Court last week.
