Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Water is currently on scene at Lower Water Street near the intersection with Duke Street investigating a small sink hole related to a piece of its infrastructure.

Until further notice, a section of the left-hand lane on Lower Water will be closed to traffic between George and Duke streets to allow crews to do the necessary assessment and repairs. During the closure taxis will not be able to park or access the taxi stand in that area.

The right-hand lane on Lower Water will remain open to traffic during this work, as will the sidewalk on both sides of the street.

Motorists may encounter some minor delays while this work is going on and are asked to drive carefully through the area or find alternative routes.

The public will be notified when the lane reopens to traffic. The Halifax Regional Municipality and Halifax Water apologize for any inconvenience this closure or the work may cause.
