Special weather statement in effect for:
A low pressure system will intensify as it approaches the Maritimes
tonight and Sunday. The low will move northeastward to lie over Cape
Breton Sunday evening.
Rain and snow can be expected over Nova Scotia tonight and Sunday. Over portions of Nova Scotia, especially inland and over higher terrain, a period of heavy wet snow is forecast.
Very strong northeast winds will develop on Sunday. Rough pounding surf and higher than normal water levels can be expected along Cape Breton and Northumberland Strait coastlines.
