I have a confession to make, one of my favorite bloggers just recently went to Paris for a few days, and since I have been stalking her travels via instagram I think she’s rubbed off on me slightly. I would be lying if I didn’t say that this sudden interest in my old beret wasn’t in part because of her.

There’s a funny story about this hat blog reader, and it goes like this.  In France they have different outlets than we do (did not know this beforehand), so despite the fact that I had packed a flat iron I couldn’t use it.  At least I couldn’t use it without an adapter plug, which to be honest I was more interested in seeing the Eiffel Tower and the Catacombs instead. When I was in Paris we stayed in a hostel (cheap cheap) which also meant that we (mostly me) were roughing it. The usual immedities that you would come to expect from a hotel were non-existent (at best). So with a shower that didn’t have a curtain, asking for a wake up call or a hair dryer was a bit much. I have to say though that the experience really changed me, I really learned how to live without.

Without a hair dryer and a flat iron, and a shower curtain that is. In lieu of my new wacky untamed hairstyle (naturally curly/frizz central – bet you didn’t know that) I bought a beret to mask the insanity that was my hair. After returning from France, I dubbed myself French and was doing everything as the French “would do”. I went through a phase of wearing it constantly, but somehow got away from it. I have to say thanks to Style On The Couch because it’s back in full swing and I am definitely temped to make a European trip in the near future!

This week’s Style Panel challenge for Fashion Magazine asked how to style the winter pastel trend. The photos above the rest of the photos from the shoot 😀 I love the softness and playfulness of winter pastels, and any excuse to wear my new BB Dakota blazer!

Also in this post you might notice a new addition to my arm party! I got this lovely Alex and Ani Present Box bangle as a Christmas present, and it couldn’t be more appropriate for me and my blog! Thanks so much Santa! xo! Also another new addition is my new lion charm bracelet. Could you die? These bracelets from Persona are so neat, I love that you can mix and match what ever beads you want. And I this lion bead?! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! My sun sign is a Leo blog readers, and I am a Leo through and through (read more here)! The folks over at Persona also sent me a beautiful flute bead too, so I’ll be sure to feature that one on the blog soon as well! It’s major and I can’t wait to fancy it up 😀

Happy Friday Blog Reader!
Sincerely,
Short Presents

PS: Big Thanks to BB Dakota and Persona! You’ve been so good to me! I love love my new pieces!
