Lighting of Menorah at City Hall to celebrate Hanukkah

Wednesday, November 27, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - HRM residents are invited to the lighting of the Hanukkah Menorah, tonight Wednesday, November 27 at 6 p.m.

Wednesday, November 27, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – HRM residents are invited to the lighting of the Hanukkah Menorah, tonight Wednesday, November 27 at 6 p.m.

Due to the weather, the lighting of the Menorah will take place inside City Hall, in Halifax Hall. A reception will follow the official lighting, also in Halifax Hall.

Hanukkah is an eight-day Festival of Lights beginning on the Hebrew calendar date of 25 Kislev which this year falls on November 27 until December 5.

The giant Menorah has been erected by the Chabad Lubavitch Organization to promote awareness and appreciation of the Hanukkah Festival. A candle will be lit each additional night during Hanukkah.
