What a great day! We had a wonderful meal with the fam and then spent the afternoon running errands/shopping.
My Mom is awesome and arrived this morning with fresh blueberry bran muffins, still warm from the oven! Thanks Mom.
I had one with a cup of coffee.
She then proceeded to take over my kitchen and prepare lunch. 🙂
Cucumber with chipotle maple pepper, my potato salad, corn on the cob and fresh veggies from our garden.
The star of the meal was salmon that my dad caught this past July in Newfoundland.
Stuffed with buttery lobster and grilled on the BBQ. Oh yes, salmon stuffed with lobster!
I supplied the vino. A local, of course! Blomidon Estates L’Acadie Blanc.
We don’t often have fish because hubby isn’t a fan. (He had a grilled T-Bone today) This was AMAZING. Thanks Dad!
The potato salad was one of the best batches I’ve ever made too!
The lighting was pretty crappy so a lot of the pics turned out dark. 🙁
While everyone else had strawberry shortcakes for dessert, I opted to skip the cake part and had a big bowl of mashed berries & whip cream. Mmmm mmmm!

After lunch hubby wanted to take a run to Future Shop, so we headed into the city for a bit of shopping. I did some damage at the Dollar Store. I often buy small kitchen accessories there. Sometimes you can find some really cute stuff and not all of it is poor quality either.
And even more damage at Future Shop. Opps. Haha, not really… I’ve been resisting the urge to buy this lens forever. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II.
