Local business named Best New Business of Year

NewPace Technology Development (www.newpace.com) was recognized by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce with a Bronze Place as one of the top three Best New Businesses of the Year for 2010 at an awards ceremony last night in Halifax.

Founded in 2009 NewPace has experienced accelerated growth over the past 18 months since signing a significant contract with US based Neustar and growing to over 35 staff. The company anticipates continued growth in the months ahead.

NewPace’s team members are specialists in mobile applications, telephony related software products, internet applications, and long-term software research and development.

NewPace works with customers involved in wireless/mobile, traditional fixed-line carriers and innovated Internet telephony products throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, as well as North America.

Brent Newsome, NewPace President and CEO, credits this achievement to balancing their ambition to develop the business while providing high quality customer service and building a highly qualified team.

“Having the confidence that your team members will do the right thing, are fully committed to your customers and are experts has meant I can sleep soundly at night. More importantly, it has given us the confidence to approach additional high profile companies.”

Being recognized by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce as a best new business is a tremendous accomplishment. It is also an acknowledgement of NewPace’s confidence in the capacity of the region, the city and its people.

Newsome added, “Our hope is to continue to build on the foundation of entrepreneurialism we’ve established, and continue to develop the technical skill sets that will further establish NewPace in the world market.”
