Local surf shops and schools open for summer

We get a lot of emails at ScotiaSurfer.com from people who are going to be visiting Nova Scotia in the summer and want surf lessons.

There are numerous surf schools and shops in the province that offer lessons and rentals, one of which is DaCane Surf Shop. During the summer months, DaCane will be offering beginner surfers a ‘Learn to Surf Clinic’ every Tuesday evening for an hour and a half.

The cost of the clinic is $19.99 (per person/per lesson) and includes all rental equipment as well as in-water instruction. For an additional $10, transportation to and from the beach will be provided.

For more information or to register, please contact DaCane Surf Shop by phone at (902) 431-7873 or by email at info@dacanesurfshop.com.

Other local surf schools and shops that offer rentals and lessons include: Kannon Beach, Rossignol Surf Shop (South Shore), Happy Dudes Surf Emporium (Lawrencetown and Martinique Beach), One Life Surf School and East Coast Surf School. (If I missed your shop name or school, please email us.)

There is also a summer surf program at Point Michaud Beach on Cape Breton Island. For more information, click here.
