Long-serving Police Officers Recognized in Cape Breton

More police officers were recognized for their years of dedicated service at a ceremony in Cape Breton today, Sept. 27.

Department of Justice deputy minister Judith Ferguson presented 45 active and retired police officers from Cape Breton with Nova Scotia Police Long Service Awards.

“The men and women being honored today have kept our communities safe and secure for many years,” said Ms. Ferguson. “On behalf of all Nova Scotians, I want to extend my sincere gratitude for their years of service to this province.”

This is the sixth year of the program, which recognizes police officers for 15 and 25 consecutive years of service in the province.

A ceremony recognizing 235 police officers from mainland Nova Scotia was held last week.
