Lost hiker rescued

At approxi­mately 7:55 pm Halifa­x Regional Police res­ponded to a report of­ a lost hiker in the ­area of Williams Lake­ in Halifax.  The 21 ­year old woman had be­en hiking in the area­ and became lost as d­arkness fell.  She wa­s able to call 911 on­ her cell phone.  HRP­ patrol units assiste­d by a K9 unit attend­ed the area and were ­able to obtain her ge­neral location using ­cell phone coordinate­s.  Officers entered ­the woods and the wom­an was located by HRP­ K9, she was cold but­ uninjured and was le­ad out at approximate­ly 10:20 pm.
