Lunenburg County RCMP at scene of serious collision, Oakhill, N.S.

Lunenburg County RCMP is currently at the scene of a serious two-vehicle collision.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. today, Lunenburg County RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS), Oakhill, Bridgewater and Dayspring Fire Departments responded to a report of a serious collision on Highway 325 in Oakhill.

EHS LifeFlight was also activated.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford car with three occupants collided with an SUV with two occupants. The three occupants from the car were airlifted to Halifax with critical injuries while the two occupants of the SUV were taken to the South Shore Regional Hospital with undetermined injuries by EHS.

RCMP expect Highway 325 to be shut down in both directions for at least 4 hours. A traffic reconstructionist has been called to the scene to assist with the investigation. RCMP is asking motorists to avoid the area, an update will follow later.
