Shortly before 1 a.m. on September 5, Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a 911 call about a youth male in medical stress on Borgels Point Rd., Chester Basin. The caller indicated that the male had ingested a substance before falling ill. Police officers also had information to suggest there were illegal drugs at the party.
Upon arrival, police were met by the two adult owners of the residence. Upon further observation, officers located approximately 30 individuals, mainly youths, who were believed to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. While walking the perimeter of the property, officers located a 15 year-old male in medical distress. The male was transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services.
While officers were on scene, another 15-year-old male youth began fighting with others at the party. Officers began to arrest the male when a 16-year-old male youth attempted to obstruct the police from carrying out their duties. Both males were taken into police custody. The 16-year-old was transported home and the 15-year-old was held overnight and released later that morning.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, a search warrant was executed at a home last evening on Hammond Lane, Chester. Marijuana, pills and drug paraphernalia was seized. A 17-year-old has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marijuana.
Lunenburg District RCMP believe there are witnesses from the party who may have further information that would assist in their investigation.
