Lunenburg District RCMP are investigating a vehicle-pedestrian incident that occurred in Northfield. On Wednesday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m., Lunenburg District members responded to a report of an injured male who had been struck by a vehicle on the Northfield Rd.

On Wednesday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m., Lunenburg District members responded to a report of an injured male who had been struck by a vehicle on the Northfield Rd.

Preliminary investigation determined that a 23-year-old male was struck by a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old female driver. The driver was later arrested near the scene and remained in custody overnight but has been released from police custody. The injured male was transported to the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. This was not a random act and the parties are known to each other.

No charges have been laid at this time and the investigation is continuing.
