Lunenburg District RCMP Lay Child Pornography Charges

On March 21, Lunenburg County District RCMP responded to a complaint regarding an individual accessing child pornography over the Internet in the Chester area.

Later that evening, officers arrested 61-year-old Arnold (Butch) Leroy Zwicker at a home in Chester Basin.  Zwicker was remanded into police custody.  On March 22, a search warrant was executed at the Chester Basin home by Lunenburg County District RCMP with assistance from the RCMP Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Unit and Technological Crime Unit.  Officers also conducted a search at the Eleanor Pew Memorial Arena and seized numerous electronic devices from both locations and three firearms from the home.

Zwicker has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography and Accessing Child Pornography by Computer and is scheduled to appear at Bridgewater Provincial Court today at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
