Release:
Halifax Harbour Bridges advises that the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge will be closed to
vehicle traffic from Friday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. until Monday, May 5 at 5:30 a.m.
This closure is necessary to allow work on the platform above the bridge deck and is
part of Project LifeSpan – a two-year, $70-million project to preserve and protect the
towers and extend the life of the bridge.
During this time:
– The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists, who will share the
designated walkway. Users are urged to exercise caution and obey all directions
from traffic control. Cyclists must walk their bicycles in the area of the pedestrian
tunnel, near the Dartmouth tower.
– Traffic delays are expected; motorists should plan ahead, use alternate routes,
and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
We thank the public for their patience and cooperation.
