An independent Nova Scotia human rights board of inquiry in the case of Beth MacLean, Sheila Livingstone, Joseph Delaney and the Disability Rights Coalition of Nova Scotia v. Province of Nova Scotia, will resume on Monday, June 4.

The complaint to the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission was brought on behalf of some residents living in an institutionalized setting who have mental and/or physical disabilities. The hearing will continue until Thursday, June 7. Additional hearing dates will be announced in the future.

Proceedings will take place at Alt Hotel Halifax Airport, 40 Silver Dart Dr., Enfield. beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The board chair is J. Walter Thompson, who is independent of the commission. The commission is not representing either party. It represents the public interest.
